Bold statement: Star Wars fans now have two stylish Rise of the Resistance ball caps and a 12-day lightsaber countdown calendar to add to their Disneyland haul—and these new items are turning heads. But here’s where it gets controversial: the timing and selection spark debates about limited availability and exclusivity. Let’s dive into what’s new, where to find it, and what it means for your park experience.
Two Rise of the Resistance Ball Caps
- Gray Rise of the Resistance Ball Cap — $32.99
This gray cap channels a weathered, vintage vibe. It features embroidered eyelets, a button-top, and a bold red "Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance" script across the front with the Imperial logo on the side. The item was spotted at Downtown Disney’s Star Wars Trading Post. The design echoes early Rise of the Resistance merchandise while offering a fresh, rugged look for everyday wear.
- Blue Rise of the Resistance Ball Cap — $32.99 The second cap brings blue, white, and orange hues with a braided rope band along the flat bill. An orange patch in the center carries the white text "Rise of the Resistance." The back includes an orange adjustable strap for a comfortable fit. This variant is available at Disneyland Park.
12-Day Lightsaber Countdown Calendar — $99.99
This miniature Legacy LIGHTSABER Hilt Countdown Calendar comes with 12 display crates, each housing a lightsaber hilt in its own clear-front display and information card. The crates can be linked together for a wall- or shelf-mounted countdown. The set features hilts associated with Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Yoda, Ben Solo, Kylo Ren, Qui-Gon Jinn, Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Princess Leia, Rey, Count Dooku, and Anakin Skywalker. Suitable for ages 8 and up. Currently, the calendar is sold out online, so a trip to Disneyland Park is the best bet if you’re hoping to snag one.
Ride background: Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance debuted in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland in January 2020. Riders join Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, and Kylo Ren as they attempt to break out of Batuu with the Resistance, only to be captured by the First Order. A separate version operates at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida.
Current status and notes
In recent years, the ride’s cannon effects faced intermittent issues. Disneyland’s restoration efforts appear to have resolved the cannons there, though similar effects remain inconsistent at Walt Disney World. An upcoming refurbishment means Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland will close for a period in January 2026.
