A new star has been born! Manchester City's FA Cup clash with Exeter on Saturday marked a special moment: the senior debut of Ryan McAidoo.
Pep Guardiola, known for his sharp eye for talent, didn't hesitate to bring in the 17-year-old winger, who has been making waves across various youth competitions.
This debut wasn't just another game; it was history in the making. McAidoo became the first Academy player to feature in the FA Cup fixture for the team, and the seventh debutant of the 2025/26 season.
McAidoo's journey with City began in the summer of 2024. In his debut season, he showcased his goal-scoring prowess, netting 10 goals in 19 appearances for the Under-18 Premier League North, helping City secure the North title.
But here's where it gets interesting: his impact wasn't limited to domestic competitions. McAidoo shone on the European stage, with six goal involvements in nine UEFA Youth League appearances, propelling City to the quarter-finals.
This season, the England youth international has already made his mark at the Under-17 World Cup. He's also seamlessly transitioned to Premier League 2 football, with one goal and two assists in just five appearances, further honing his skills with Ben Wilkinson’s Elite Development Squad.
And this is the part most people miss: his rapid development and versatility.
Everyone at Manchester City is thrilled with Ryan's achievements. What do you think about his debut? Do you think he'll become a key player for City in the future? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
